We went to dinner and bowling with Pat, Tracy, and Niki Huen.
It was lots of fun bowling!!
We were bowling in the dark with laser lights and blacklights! It was really interesting!
Shireen was really glowing!!
Shireen and I went on our first Meet trip as an Olympus gymnast.
It was a fun place to start our season - San Francisco!
We had a nice lunch at No. 9 Fishermans Grotto at Fisherman's Warf and the girls really enjoyed being with each other sightseeing!
We walked to Ghirardelli place and had some yummy ice cream and hot chocolate!
After the meet, the whole team ate together at PF Changs!
It was one of the longest meals we've ever had!!
Olympus hosts the meet called Crystal Cup. It was an interesting experience setting up all of the gymnastic equipment!
There are thousands of springs under the floor that we had to individually set up!
The parents helped provide food for the Judges and Coaches.
I was so different to see Shireen as an Olympus gymnast!
She's competed in this meet several times in the past while at USA.
Shireen took 2nd on bars and 5th all-around.
Grandma loved coming to watch Shireen!!
Shaida had a fun trip to Los Angeles with her Architecture class.
She managed to get away to Disneyland for a short visit with her friends and Anthony!
We headed to Phoenix Arizona for our next meet.
It was quite a long drive there and back home.
We loved the cool cactus we got for Shaida for her birthday!
We passed Hoover Dam on the way back home. It was so amazing to see
the bridge being built in the background!
This was our favorite store that we stopped at. I had cool colorful things!!
We were back to Las Vegas the next week (after driving through from Phoenix just last week!)
We stayed at the Southpoint Hotel which is fun for the girls.
Many of Shireen's friends didn't come because they were injured - including Sydney who just came for fun!
Shireen wasn't injured but she came down sick on the day of the meet!
She competed one event (which she did very badly!!) and then left as we tried to find an open insta-care facility!
She said it was really hard for her to swallow and breathe. She ended out having strep!!
You can really see from this picture how sick she was!!
Braces off Day!!
The dentist even gives balloons! I love seeing her teeth!!
We took Sheila's picture because her braces are coming off soon too!!
Off to Boise, Idaho for a meet!
We had a great room on the top floor of the Hampton Hotel.
But in the middle of the night we had a FIRE ALARM!!
Shireen was so worried but I said I didn't care if I burned up, I was going to get dressed!!
It was a long walk down all the stairs from the top floor.
Thank goodness it wasn't too very cold outside - just a bit chilly!
After about an hour, we were let inside of the building but not into our rooms.
We tried to entertain ourselves (or drink coffee to stay awake!)
We were glad that the girls didn't compete until later in the afternoon the next day!
We even got to see the new Alice in Wonderland before the meet.
Shireen got a first place on bars! The first gold medal of this season!!
Before our drive home, we went to visit my Dad's brother Uncle Dale and Aunt Pat. We loved their tree in the front yard!
It's Persian New Years time. This is our Haft Sin.
We went to the Persian New Year Party at a Hotel.
The girls loved visiting with their cousins.
Ahmad's sister passed away having these wonderful twins!
They are beautiful sweet girls who are going to the University of Utah now.
The girls actually got up and danced! They were really having a fun party!
We loved the laser lights and had fun taking pictures of them!!
Of course Sheila and Shaida ran off to a quick trip to Disneyland on their Spring Break!!
It's Easter Time! I loved having a week off school so we have time to have fun!
The girls and Niki have lots of fun making and decorating cookies and eggs!
Such a great outlet for all their artistic whims!!
It's Mom's (Grandma's) birthday and Mother's Day weekend.
We took her to Red Lobster - one of her favorite foods.
We also got her favorite cake from Glaus Bakery - Chocolate Rum Cake!!
Grandma had a fun time with her son Brent and his two kids
and our family too!
Shaida made it a goal of hers to help fix up our backyard!
Ahmad decided to cement our deck - he cleared out all the rotten deck boards
and got it ready for cement.
It was the worst news for me to know that my room was getting demolished and redone as a computer lab!
I've been in this room for 12 years and it was really hard for me to let it go!!
Here is my room on the last day of school!
Goodbye old room! I'll miss you!
Sheila and Shaida headed out to Los Angeles for a week of Disneyland.
The rest of us planned on flying in on Wednesday to join them.
The girls had a great time with their friends. They had a bonfire at the beach!
When we got there, we had a big lunch with all the friends from California.
Then off to Disneyland
Wow! That wonderful Dole Whip and the fantastic Pommes Frites at Cafe Orleans!!
Here Shireen is waiting for the World Of Color water show!
It was really good and so beautiful!
My girls always have a great time. They keep themselves entertained with fun games and puzzles and really enjoy the little things!
This is their first time they got their faces painted.
Isn't it lovely!!
On our last day in California, we headed out to Grauman's Chinese Theatre
with Ahmad and his niece Golnaz, her husband Davar and their son Orod!!
Shireen is a fan of I Love Lucy
so she had to see the John Wayne cement footprint and try her leg on the Betty Grable one!
Happy Birthday Sheila!
She always seems to get good parties because it's summer and a Holiday!
We had a barbeque with Mercy and her family-
Mitra (up from Phoenix), Farnoush, Mehrnoush, and Jahan.
She got a cute Oreo cake!
Shaida especially wanted a Pinata so we luckily found one!
It's neck started breaking - thank goodness for ducktape!!
The Pinata was lots of fun even though all the "kids" were older!!
Cousins
Farnoush, Mitra, Jahan, Mehrnoush, Sheila, Shaida, and Shireen
The party wasn't over yet - next - Roasting Marshmallows!
And finally.... Fireworks!!
My birthday present was a trip to Colorado Springs with Shireen.
I don't know anything I'd rather do than watch my baby do gymnastics
especially with Katia - who got Shireen started!!
Shireen stayed with me in the Hotel. It was very nice and had a great kitchen and 2 tv's so we were very content!!
The gymnasts have a fun week with lots of workouts and fun activities like skating.
Shireen loved getting reaquainted with Polina, Olona, and Christina (Katia's kids).
I enjoyed my time watching Shireen and doing some shopping and a little sightseeing.
Shireen won the Top Gymnast for the Camp award!
She gets to come again next year for free!
Both coaches told Shireen that she was welcome at their gym anytime!!
After the Camp finished, Ahmad flew in to join us.
We spent a day touring Colorado Springs.
We went to the Cave of the Winds (a place I took Sheila and Shaida last year).
I showed them the Garden of the Gods. They have beautiful rock formations!
It was great having Ahmad join us this year!
I also took them to see the Royal Gorge. I knew they would love it!
We took at tram ride across the Gorge.
We walked down to the Old West Town and saw some animals.
The little town had some fun things in it to see and do.
Shireen learned how to throw an ax. She was pretty good!
Ahmad had fun too!
We went to Katia's house to say goodbye and headed up to Denver.
On our way to Denver, we got to watch Natasha's new Level 5 girls compete.
In Denver, we got to visit with Natasha and Yuriy and see where they lived.
She showed us her gym. It is small but very nice. I loved the couch for the parents to watch!!
We also went to the Aquarium
We ate at the restaurant. Shireen enjoyed the fish and petting the stingrays.
It was a fun trip!
The girls really wanted to go fishing!
So we decided to pack up with a tent and try our luck at Moosehorn Lake.
Sheila enjoyed reading and relaxing with her mother while the others fished.
Shireen took her fishing pretty seriously and she caught some!!
Shaida is a pretty good fisherman and caught some good trout!
It was fun but Ahmad and I probably had the worst night's sleep in the back of our car.
The girls were cold but did well inside the tent cuddling together.
We had fun playing games like Apples to Apples!
We are working on the outside of our house!
We first got a beautiful Door!
Then we decided to stucco the outside siding part of our house.
The stucco guy took his time and we didn't get it done until almost Halloween!!
It's the time for weddings! Our nephew/cousin Iman is getting married!
Off to the reception.
We were all dressed up!!
It was a nice wedding and great to see the Nazarinia family!
The next day we were off to California (again) and another Disneyland visit.
The girls got their faces painted again. I loved it!
We were getting excited for the new movie Tangled and their little
addition to Fantasyland! (You can see golden hair on the roof!)
We wore our muppets shirts one day!
We even got to see Mickey that day!!
The reason we went this October was for the
Halloween Party at Disneyland this year.
The girls worked for weeks on their costumes.
They gave their cousin Golnaz's son Orod the movie Pinoccio to watch.
Shireen was a great Pinoccio, Sheila was Giddeon and
Shaida was Honest John.
As you can see, I am Gipetto with Jiminy Crickett in my pocket.
The costumes were great!!
It was interesting riding the rides!!
We loved the Haunted Mansion all decked out for the Nightmare Before Christmas!
They had the park all spooky with fog and decorations.
They had Trick-or-Treat stations all over and our bags were filled with great treats!
It was a quick trip but lots of fun!!
Another Halloween and more fun making and decorating Haunted Houses!
I think they turned out pretty good! Shaida's was leaning
and Niki's fell apart when she took it home!! Oh Well!
November 25, 2010
Thanksgiving
Festival of the Trees time!
The girls wore their Charlie Brown tree t-shirts.
After Sheila left, the girls found a little Charlie Brown tree!
Shireen celebrated her birthday with two other teammates Baylie Divino and Makayla Betz.
They had a really fun party but didn't get to do the Sleigh-riding part because of NO SNOW!!
Shireen got lots of very nice presents!
They played games and had lots of fun!!
On Shireen's real birthday weekend, we headed to our yearly Christmas Village trip!
The best part of it is the visit to Tony's Pizza in Ogden, Utah. We gave Shireen her presents there.
Then off to Christmas Village and getting all bundled up!
We had a great time!!
I went with Shireen to Church this week.
She always gets to be the Shepherd.
I was glad I got to see her!
Of course, we're always too filled up from Tony's Pizza to eat the cake so we took it home for her real birthday!
The girls had a gingerbread day and made a fun Snoopy house to go along with our Charlie Brown tree!
We had a fun Christmas Eve at my Mom's house.
We pulled Christmas Crackers and all got crowns!
Grandma provided stocking hats for the kids!
Our tree looks so magical on Christmas Eve!
The girls got their Christmas Jammies - Pink Bunny ones!!
Santa made it to our house again!
Oreo was so comfortable there in the presents!!
The girls look so cute in their bunny jammies and Cookie was having lots of fun being in the middle of it all!
Doesn't Cookie look so cute with all the bows!!
